New Delhi: Sagarika Ghose, Editor of news TV channel CNN-IBN, posted ten questions to Arvind Kejriwal of Aam Admi Party through Twitter today.
To her surprise, Kejriwal re[lied to all of them in ten minutes, making clear his party’s stands on the issues.
“Fabulous! @ArvindKejriwal only politician who responded to my 10 quesns, when @BeWithRG and @narendramodi just ignored! A new type of neta:),” tweets Sagarika in no time.
A coincidence notwithstanding, Kejriwal’s prompt replies justify what PollUpdates published one hour before: “A new breed of politicians have emerged, whom a common man trusts, and believes he will fulfill his wishes.”
Here are the questions and their replies:
Q 1: How will u make up Delhi’s power deficit? Will u buy power? Who will pay?
Answer: Delhi is a power surplus state now, not power deficit any more.
Q 2: Will you give free power to the poor? nationalise electricity? Bring back DESU?
Answer: We r not giving free power to anyone.
Q 3: New AC buses heavily subsidised by Centre under JNNURM. If a hostile Centre stops this subsidy what will u do?
Answer: Does this mean that we shud dismiss all non-Cong state govts or shud state govts be servile to centre.
Q 4: what will u do on cycle-rickshaws, street vendors? Regularise them? Ban them?
Answer: We will organize them properly.
Q 5: what will you do on land/lal dora issues? Demolish or regularise illegal slum colonies?
Answer: Lal Dora issue is quite serious for villagers. Lal Dora limits ought to be revisited in consultation wid villagers.
Q 6: Will a JLP bill not create a daroga raj, inspector raj, massive army of babu-cops, more red tape, delays?
Answer: JLP is only abt creating an independent CBI at centre and similar independent body at state level.
Q 7: Where do u stand on welfare spend? U support FSB, MNREGA? more spending?
Answer: We need to create an honest delivery system for the poor… People shud be directly involved in designing and implementation of schemes.
Q 8: Your party is a year old–are u confident your MLAs won’t be bought over for crores in event of hung house?
Answer: Our MLAs are completely wid the party. In any case, under present anti-defection law, it is almost impossible.
Q 9: How will you fast track police reforms? will u implement SC reccos on police reforms in Delhi?
Answer: Delhi Police is under Centre’s control.
Q 10: Does the entire party support Prashant’s well known views on J&K?
Answer: No. The party does not support his views.
