ISLAMABAD: In a shocking incident, Pakistani Taliban militants beheaded a man in full public view, warning people not to remove the body till evening on Friday. The man was suspected of spying for state security forces.
As per media reports, state security forces, aided by local administration, had launched massive operations against militants in the Khyber region of NWFP, a region dominated by tribals with significant influence of outlawed militant agencies.
The operations had left thousands of people including women and children flee homes. Following requests of tribal elders, the state administration had extended a deadline for people to vacate homes and move to safer places where they were being provided one meal, free transportation and health-care by the government.
The Fata Disaster Management Authority said more than 50,000 families have moved out of the area with children under the age of five vaccinated against polio.
