NEW DELHI: The mastermind of the Mumbai attacks on 26/11 Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi, known to be the right-hand man of dreaded terrorist Hafiz Saeed, was released on bail on Thursday in an anti-terrrorism court in Islamabad even as Pakistan is mourning the deaths of 136 school children in a massacre by terrorists in Peshawar.
The Dawn, a reputed Pakistan daily, reports the Federal Investigation Agency’s prosecutor disagreed with the bail plea of Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi. However, the court granted him bail with a direction to pay surety bonds worth Rs 500,000 before release.
The bail could not come at a worse time as India had made visible efforts in solidarity with Pakistan following the massacre by Pakistani Taliban three days ago.
The development has angered Indians so much that the very people who offered condolences and stood with Pakistan at one of their worst times, have started asking if Pakistan would ever change and raise doubts over the nation’s will to combat terrorism.
One Kuldeep Singh @kskulcool0291 tweets: “Morons who started #IndiawithPakistan gets tight slap from Pakistan as #26/11 mastermind Zakir Lakhvi Released.”

Vikram Chandra @vikramchandra says: “I see that #IndiawithPakistan is still the top Twitter trend in India. With this latest news, that could change rather fast.”
Micro blogging site Twitter is flooded with outbursts from Indians following the bail granted. So much so that people who were trending #IndiawithPakistan on Twitter have come under attack with nasty remarks and expletives.Replying to one such barb, Tehseen Poonawalla @tehseenp says: “Thank u. But it wasn’t me but humanity that made it a trend. :)”
