NEW DELHI: The CM candidate of BJP Kiran Bedi outlines her plans to make Delhi safe to women, provide cheap electricity and water without subsidy even as the government does not shell out public money in the form of subsidy.
Bedi vows to re-introduce civil policing and ensure Delhi Police is made accountable on conviction of culprits, greater involvement of public in maintaining law and order, opening OPDs in government hospitals in evening so that people preoccupied during daytime can avail public health services among others.
However, Bedi preferred not to disclose what transpired between her and IAC colleagues including Arvind Kejriwal during the Janlokpal movement, led by Anna Hazare. The former cop, the first woman IPS officer, says her rich experience as a police officer will make it easy for her to provide good governance.
Kiran Didi, as called by supporters after joining politics, outlines her difference of opinion with Anna Hazare over nation’s politics and political parties.
Exuding confidence over her party’s victory, Bedi says people of Delhi will support Modi and his vision for Delhi to make it a world class city. However, it remains to be seen how much people trust her as Delhi goes to vote on February 7.
