NEW DELHI: Leaders from a number of Muslim groups are learnt to have written to AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal to expel Kumar Vishvas from the party after his recent praises of RSS in a TV interview.

Vishvas called RSS a disciplined force recently in response to a question on “AAP leaders behaving like urban Naxalites” in an interview to a private TV news channel.

Kumar had said, “Referring to us as ‘urban naxals’ is like calling the Sangh communal. It is the work of dis-satisfied Congressmen.”

His statement sparked fresh controversies even as Muslim leaders demand Kumar’s removal in return to their support to the newly formed party. However, the party has sought to distance itself from his views and offered no comment.

An FIR was also filed against Kumar for hurting religious sentiment of Shia Muslims for his controversial comment on Muharram in a cultural event in 2005.

Meanwhile, the Congress has alleged that the AAP leader who has been contesting against Rahul Gandhi in Amethi, was always inclined towards BJP.
