Addressing a rally at Hirapur in Jammu and Kashmir, the Bharatiya Janata Party prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi accused Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal to be a Pakistani agent, and took a jibe at the former Delhi chief minister to call him ‘AK 49’.
Modi was referring to Kejriwal’s 49-day rule in the Capital before he chose to resign as the youngest chief minister of Delhi on account of his inability to introduce the anti-corruption Janlokpal Bill in the assembly.
Kejriwal was leading a minority government and failed to muster support from opposition BJP and Congress on the bill in the House. AAP was born out of the Janlokpal Bill movement two years ago. The party fought the Delhi assembly polls with a promise to pass the Janlokpal Bill in House if comes to power.
Modi said: “There are three AKs in Pakistan who’re being admired. AK 47, AK Antony and AK49. This third one, AK 49, has just launched a political party.”
Do you appreciate the remarks of the Gujarat chief minister and the prime minister candidate of the main opposition party to take such jibes at a sitting Union Minister and former chief minister? Or, it’s just no big deal? Share your opinion.
