Delhi elections: Passes for Modi’s rally are made in China

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been be espousing the cause of ‘Make in India’. But his call seems to have fallen on deaf ears in his own party. The media passes issued by the BJP for Modi’s election rally are found to be made in China.

Taking potshots at Modi and his party, rivals say Modi has failed to deliver on a single promise he had made before elections in last seven months. And the latest incident proves he had made false claims and has no vision or concrete plans to translate them into action.

Even some critics call him NARAndra Modi as social media is abuzz with photographs of media passe holders issued by BJP for Modi’s first rally in the national capital ahead of the Assembly elections in the city.

The saffron party is facing a daunting task this time unlike the previous Assembly elections in the four states after coming to power at Centre, thanks to a Modi wave. However, the newly formed Aam Aadmi Party is giving a tough fight in the national capital as most of the pre-poll surveys project AAP ahead in the race.

To add to BJP’s woes, inclusion of former IPS officer Kiran Bedi into the party fold and making her the CM candidate seems to have not gone well as expected. Many of the party cadres are not happy with the party’s decision to impose her despite no dearth of CM material in BJP. The party leadership pins hope on Bedi, the first woman IPS officer, to win support of women with her image of a tough police officer and forty years experience on administration.

Bedi is also believed to have been brought in to check the growing support of AAP chief and social activist-turned-politician Arvind Kejriwal among the Delhiites. With elections only a week away, it remains to be seen if BJP can manage its winning streak in Delhi too.
