NEW DELHI: Even as some Delhi bureaucrats expressed anguish over the treatment meted out to them, Dy CM Manish Sisodia says they are against the AAP government because it is trying to stop the “transfer-posting industry” they ran in previous governments.
Sisodia’s allegation has added new twist to the ugly war between the Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and LG Najeeb Jung. The sharp attack came hours after the LG cancelled all transfers made by the Chief Minister’s office in past four days.
Sisodia says people who were running “transfer-posting industry” in the past are talking about “motivating” IAS officers. Officials who were misusing their position are demoralised, adds Sisodia.
Media reports say more than 100 serving and retired IAS officers of AGMUT (Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram-Union Territories) cadre have expressed displeasure over the treatment meted out to senior officers in Delhi.
“It is very interesting. In Delhi, ‘transfer-posting’ is a big industry and we have stopped it in last three months. All the transfers we have done are on the basis of eligibility and have been carried out with full honesty. This is why people are opposing us. Crores (of rupees) were made through ‘transfer-posting industry’ in Delhi,” Sisodia told reporters.
