HAZARIBAGH: Condemning terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir that claimed lives of 21 people including jawans and police, Prime Minister Narendra Modi told an election rally here on Saturday that the dastardly acts were unsuccessful attempts to derail democracy in the Valley.
Paying homage to the brave soldiers including Lt. Col. Sankalp Kumar of Jharkhand, Modi said the nation will remember their sacrifice and it will inspire generations to come.
“I pay my tributes to Jharkhand’s brave son Sankalp Kumar Shukla and other brave jawans who sacrificed their lives. Sankalp Kumar Shukla’s martyrdom will be remembered by future generations in the state,” he said.
Eight army men including Lt Col Sankalp Kumar and three policemen were killed in Mohra in Uri sector by a group of six militants from Pakistan two days ago.
Urging people to vote in large number for BJP, he said: “The people of Jharkhand saved the country from a hung Lok Sabha, by helping the BJP achieve a clear mandate in the recent parliamentary elections.”
“It is time for the people of Jharkhand to save the state, by electing a BJP government with full majority in the Assembly elections as well.”
He said Jharkhand is such a rich state that it can make all of India prosperous, but the people of the state are poor and unemployed. The state needs a government that works for people’s welfare.
He also mentioned various schemes launched by his government, including the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana and the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana.
