NEW DELHI: In a new twist to the Delhi Assembly elections, a news website alleges illegal means by AAP leaders to raise funds for the party in the name of donations.
The website Media Sarkar claims it conducted sting operation on nine AAP leaders who accepted donations as party fund in cash with promise to do favours once voted to power. The leaders accepted cash without any documents or receipts.
AAP, a newly formed party led by anti-corruption activists Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Shisodia and Prashant Bhusan, has emerged as a front runner in the race to the Delhi assembly.
Video footage revealed senior leader Shazia Ilmi who is contesting from R K Puram as AAP candidate, accepted bribe to malign the image of a company without seeking documents of company’s misdoings.
A reporter, who pretended to be a company’s staff, asked Shazia to smear the image of his rival firm. She was offered a whopping sum to act likewise.
The video also show Shazia revealing that party (AAP) accepts donations in cash. She was found telling ways of taking money through illegal means.
Speaking to Arnab Goswami on Times Now, Ilmi offered not to contest Delhi assembly election.
AAP leader Dinesh Mohania from Sangam Vihar was exposed on camera vowing to settle a person’s property dispute by applying certain tricks after winning elections.
Irfan Ullah Khan from Okhla constituency was ready to settle the reporter’s money dispute by any legal or illegal means.
Meanwhile, the micro-blogging website Twitter is trending a key word ‘India News’, a leading Hindi news channel, which reveals another sting of AAP conducted by the channel.
India News channel alleged AAP of selling the Badarpur Assembly seat at Rs 2 crore.
Meanwhile, AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal dismissed the sting operation as a conspiracy against his party, but said it will not compromise on the issue of corruption.
“We will not spare anyone if found guilty,” he said, adding he knew who were behind it as BJP and Congress have been routed by AAP.
Arvind Kejriwal or any of the Aam Aadmi Party candidates are unavailable for the comment over the sting operations.
